A Little About Us

Harold Kane was born on the 4th of July, 1961 in Tallahassee, Florida. He grew up on a Boy Scout Camp in Quincy, Florida, where his father was the camp ranger.

Harold attained his Eagle Scout rank prior to graduating from Shanks High School. He received an associate’s degree in Criminal Justice at Tallahassee Community College and attended the Business School at Florida State University.

He moved to Charleston, South Carolina, in 1984 and became a District Executive for the Boy Scouts of America, serving the Lowcountry District of Beaufort and Jasper counties.

In 1990, he married Deborah Jackson, an attorney in Walterboro, South Carolina and became the District Executive for Pineland District of Colleton, Hampton, and Allendale counties. Harold and Deborah share their home with Cypress, their 3-legged Black Lab (she had a run-in with an alligator as a puppy) and Dreyfuss, their red short-haired dachshund. Dreyfuss hasn’t met a lap or a dog biscuit he hasn’t loved yet.

Harold is past president of the Walterboro Lions Club and serves on the Colleton County Disability Foundation Board. He is a past member of the Sea Island Rotary Club. He is a member of the Walterboro-Colleton County Chamber of Commerce and has been active in the local Rice Festival. He serves as Cubmaster for Pack 686 in Walterboro. Harold’s parents, Melvin and Betty Kane, reside in Ruffin, South Carolina.

Growing up on a 500+ acres Boy Scout Camp, Harold enjoyed the best of country living and appreciates and understands the special needs and wants of those wanting to make their homes in rural areas. He has been a licensed real estate agent since 1993 and began working with Century 21-Girardeau in January 2006.
